Dosha and season aside, these are very good to take while traveling, as they help quell motion sickness/nausea. And they are quite tasty and tangy to boot!
Ingredients:
3 Tablespoons JaggeryProcedure:
a few pieces of dried tamarind (if unavailable, very dry raisins would work)
1 teaspoon toasted cumin
a pinch of salt
*Optional: a few pieces of crystallized ginger
- Toast cumin seeds in a dry skillet until seeds turn golden and they emit a nice nutty scent.
- Toss everything into a food processor and pulse until it comes together (not gooey), or grind with a mortar and pestle until seeds are pulverized and jaggery and tamarind are consistent.
- Make into small balls or logs (visual: like tootsie rolls), and wrap in wax paper wrappers.
