Aryuvedic "Candies" (Great for Motion Sickness & Morning Sickness)

What is aryuvedism? To oversimplify it, it's a traditional, holistic medicine rooted in (Indian, Hindu) Vedic culture, which corelates to one's body type (dosha) and season.

Dosha and season aside, these are very good to take while traveling, as they help quell motion sickness/nausea. And they are quite tasty and tangy to boot!

Ingredients:
3 Tablespoons Jaggery
a few pieces of dried tamarind (if unavailable, very dry raisins would work)
1 teaspoon toasted cumin
a pinch of salt
*Optional: a few pieces of crystallized ginger
Procedure:
  1. Toast cumin seeds in a dry skillet until seeds turn golden and they emit a nice nutty scent.
  2. Toss everything into a food processor and pulse until it comes together (not gooey), or grind with a mortar and pestle until seeds are pulverized and jaggery and tamarind are consistent.
  3. Make into small balls or logs (visual: like tootsie rolls), and wrap in wax paper wrappers.
